Regional Town of Cap-Acadie
The Regional Town of Cap-Acadie, a key municipal institution in Acadia, wanted to provide its residents and visitors with a modern, accessible, and highly practical digital experience for everyday life.
Project Goals
The Cap-Acadie website redesign was intended to establish an online presence that highlights the region's vibrancy, emphasizing accessibility, clarity, and user-friendliness in both its services and local attractions.
- Create an interface that adheres to accessibility standards and aligns with the new logo's design.
- Improve navigation so that citizens and visitors can quickly find the information they seek.
- Refine layout design to improve how easily users can access information.
- Create a central hub to discover parks, trails, restaurants, and regional facilities.
Implemented Solutions
To tackle the identified challenges, our team created a strategy built on four complementary pillars, integrating a visual redesign, information structure, and new interactive features.
Visual modernization and accessibility
The site’s design was entirely overhauled to match the artistic style of Cap-Acadie's new logo, ensuring compliance with current accessibility standards.
Complete restructuring of navigation
Navigation was completely redesigned, introducing new menu categories tailored to different audiences. The addition of subcategories to mega-menus makes content discovery more intuitive.
Interactive map of public spaces
An interactive, filterable map now integrates all public and private spaces, including parks, trails, restaurants, and tourist attractions. A list view facilitates smooth navigation across all screens.
Improved filters and typography
Search filters for ordinances, policies, notices, and communications were added or enhanced. Typography styles, buttons, and links were revised for a clean, accessible appearance.
Results
The redesign of capacadie.ca offers a modern, accessible, and intuitive digital experience. Citizens and visitors now benefit from simplified navigation, an interactive map, and an interface compliant with accessibility standards, all in harmony with the region's new logo.
