Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie
Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie is a cycling event hosted by the Municipality of Clare, honoring Acadian heritage and showcasing the beautiful coastal views of Baie Sainte-Marie in Nova Scotia.
Project Goals
We completely redesigned the granfondobaiesaintemarie.ca website to ensure an optimal experience for cyclists and visitors. This transformation aimed to:
- Improve the structure and facilitate information retrieval
- Create a distinctive visual style that better embodies the event, the Acadian region, and its culture
- Strengthen web accessibility for all users
- Optimize the visibility of the registration process
- Facilitate access to relevant information for both participants and visitors
Implemented Solutions
Our strategy was rooted in a thorough understanding of the event's identity and the core needs of its participants.
A Consistent Visual Identity
We developed a creative concept inspired by evocative keywords: cycling, sea/coastal landscapes, Acadia, hospitality, and community. These elements guided every design decision to craft an authentic and consistent brand identity.
User-Centric Architecture
The menu and page structure were redesigned to better align with visitors' actual needs. We organized the frequently asked questions by theme to improve readability and make it easier to find information.
Optimized Accessibility and Registration
The registration button is now more visible across the user journey. At the same time, we have incorporated WCAG 2.2 standards to guarantee accessibility for all users.
Results
The updated Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie website provides a modern, user-friendly experience that accurately captures the friendly, community-oriented spirit of the event. Users can now easily find the information they need, and the streamlined registration process has successfully increased participation.
